Mediator, seasoned trial lawyer, advocate, author, professor, lecturer, trainer, and trusted advisor—these are but a few of Gary Eisenstat's many accomplishments and roles over his storied career. Throughout his years of trial practice, Gary has handled tens of thousands of commercial, business, and employment matters, including trying and defending lawsuits and arbitrations in federal and state courts throughout Texas and the United States. These have included contractual, corporate, shareholder, fiduciary duty, real estate, oil and gas, banking, securities, insurance, business torts, and intellectual property disputes, in individual, class, and collective actions.

Gary has also handled all forms of employment disputes, ranging from wrongful termination claims, whistleblower allegations, wage and hour disputes, executive compensation suits, and claims of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation. Gary has also litigated and mediated a significant number of matters involving allegations of theft or misappropriation of trade secrets and restrictive covenant disputes involving the enforcement of non-competition and non-solicitation agreements.

Speaking, Teaching & Writing

Gary has been a frequent speaker and lecturer throughout Texas and the United States on a wide range of topics, including in the fields of labor and employment, commercial litigation, and alternative dispute resolution. For several years, he served as an adjunct professor at the University of North Texas College of Law, teaching negotiations and client counseling, and frequently guest lectures at the SMU Dedman School of Law's ADR classes, training law students on mediation from a practitioner's view. From 1997 through 2014, Gary coauthored the annual survey of Texas Civil Procedure, published in the SMU Law Review's Annual Texas Survey edition.

Since 2024, Gary has co-chaired the University of Texas Law's Corporate Counsel Institute Continuing Legal Education seminar and has been on the planning committee of, and a speaker at, this event since the early 2000s.
